OUR STORY · EST. 2023

Apparel designed to celebrate culture and heritage.

WHERE WE STARTED · 2023

Built to celebrate||where you're from.

League Lids was founded in 2023 across Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia. We set out to design sport headwear that genuinely reflects the cultures and heritages of the people who wear it.

OUR FIRST DESIGNS

Two designs.||Created with artists.

Our first sport lids featured a Māori design and an Aboriginal design. Both were developed in collaboration with artists from those cultures, and that collaborative approach has shaped every release since. The artist leads the creative direction, and we work alongside them to bring it to life as a finished product.

GROWING THE RANGE

More cultures.||One at a time.

From there, the range grew slowly and deliberately. Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, the Cook Islands, and many more followed. Every culture begins the same way: a conversation with an artist or cultural representative, then a design. A lid is only released once the artist is satisfied with it.

NRL MULTICULTURAL ROUND · APRIL 2025

Worn on the field.||Worn with pride.

The 2025 NRL Multicultural Round was a meaningful milestone for us. A number of players across the competition wore our lids during captain's run and game day, each representing the heritage they grew up with. Seeing those moments shared on national broadcast was something we will always be grateful for.

RUGBY LEAGUE BALLS · MAY 2025

From the lid||to the ball.

In May 2025 we released our first rugby league ball range. Designed across multiple cultures and available in Core and Extended editions, the balls were our first product beyond headwear, and a chance to bring the same considered approach to something that gets used on the field every weekend.

NRL INDIGENOUS ROUND · AUGUST 2025

Honouring Country||and heritage.

NRL Indigenous Round 2025 was held under the theme Moving Forward Together. Our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander lids, designed in collaboration with Indigenous artists, were worn by players throughout the round. We remain committed to listening to the artists and Elders whose work and guidance make ours possible.

BASKETBALL · NOVEMBER 2025

Designed||for the court.

In November 2025 we launched our basketball range: jerseys and shorts featuring Aboriginal, Māori, Samoa and Tonga designs. Each piece was developed alongside artists from the cultures represented, and built to be worn on court, in the gym, or anywhere heritage shows up.

HEADGUARDS · DECEMBER 2025

Built for contact.

Released in December 2025, our headguard range brings cultural designs to protective rugby gear. Available in Aboriginal, Australia, Māori and Samoa designs, alongside classic Black and White, the headguards were made for players who carry their heritage onto the contact field.

WHAT'S NEXT

More is||in the works.

We have new ranges in development that we are not quite ready to share yet. Whatever comes next, our process stays the same. The artist leads. We collaborate, produce, and deliver. That is the standard we hold ourselves to.
