Aboriginal Classic Sports Lid

At the center of this artwork are circle symbols, representing a camp or meeting place—a space for gathering and connection. Surrounding them, line work symbolizes the deep ties to Country, reflecting the relationship between people and the land.

Encircling the line work are Kangaroo tracks, watched over by symbols representing people. In Aboriginal culture, there is a responsibility to protect and care for totem animals. Those whose totem is the Kangaroo are not allowed to hunt or eat it, as it holds deep spiritual significance. This understanding is passed down through generations, shaping the journey of learning and respect for Country.

This design was created in collaboration with Sean Kinchela, also known as Local Famous, a proud Gamilaroi and Wiradjuri man. As an artist, photographer, and graphic designer, Sean draws his creative inspiration from his culture, Country, and its wildlife. His work brings the land to life, weaving patterns of water, sand, and mountains—a reflection of his deep connection to the ocean and the land he calls home. Every line and shape carries meaning, staying rooted in culture and storytelling.

Our Classic Sports Hats are designed to fit most head sizes comfortably, including small to medium-large heads. However, those with very large heads may find the fit snug. That said, we've only had two people ever take us up on our offer to return it for not fitting—so it’s rarely an issue. If you're unsure, feel free to give it a shot!
