Washing it
- Marks first: dab with a damp cloth and a drop of mild soap.
- For a full wash: cold water — not warm — with a little mild detergent. Quick and gentle, with a rub along the sweatband.
- Rinse cold, then press the water out in a towel. Never wring it.
- Reshape and dry over something head-shaped, in the shade.
- No dryer, no radiator, no car window. One hot dry is all it takes to shrink a fit.
If it ever feels tight after washing, it met heat somewhere. Keep it cold all the way through and it will not move.
